Cookie Notice

What cookies this site sets, why, and how to change your choice.

Last updated: 12 October 2026

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies such as local storage work in the same way. We use the word 'cookies' to cover both.

2. Strictly necessary

This is needed to make the site work, and UK law lets us set it without asking:

Strictly necessary cookies
NameProviderPurposeHow long it lasts
statimpay-cookie-consentStatimPay (local storage on this site)Records whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we do not ask on every page.Until you clear your browser data

3. Analytics

These help us understand how the site is used. None of them are set, and neither analytics tool loads, until you accept analytics cookies.

_gaGoogle AnalyticsTells visitors apart, to give us usage statistics.2 years
_ga_<ID>Google AnalyticsKeeps track of your current visit.2 years
_clckMicrosoft ClarityRemembers your Clarity visitor ID on this site.1 year

MUIDMicrosoft (set on clarity.ms)Identifies your browser across Microsoft sites. Microsoft uses it for advertising, site analytics and other operational purposes.About 1 year
MR, SM, ANONCHKMicrosoft (set on clarity.ms)Keep the MUID identifier up to date across Microsoft's domains. ANONCHK is always set to 0 for Clarity.Up to 7 days

Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use our pages, including recordings of clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and heatmaps. We use this to find where the site is confusing. When you accept analytics cookies we tell both Google Analytics and Clarity that you have agreed to analytics only, not to advertising, and Google Analytics' advertising features (Google Signals) are switched off.

Some of Clarity's cookies are set on Microsoft's own domain (clarity.ms) rather than ours, and Microsoft's privacy statement covers how it uses them.

We have linked Clarity to Google Analytics, so each Clarity recording is matched to the same visit in Google Analytics.

We do not set advertising cookies of our own.

4. Your choice, and how to change it

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you accept, no analytics scripts are loaded at all, not even in a restricted mode.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer, or the button at the bottom of this page. Either reopens the banner so you can make a different choice; your current choice stays in place until you pick a new one. If you withdraw consent after analytics have loaded, the page reloads to remove them.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.

5. More information

Our Privacy Notice explains what personal data we collect and your rights over it.

Google's and Microsoft's own privacy statements explain how they use the data their analytics tools collect.

If you have a question about this notice, email us at info@statimpay.com.
